Eco Theory

overview

The Public Works is a responsible environmental steward.
Our team members’ personal philosophies and enduring love of the outdoors push our company to continuously strive for ways to lessen our impact on the Earth and its climate.  Our fabrication facility in Evergreen, Colorado is primarily solar-powered and heated from downed beetle-kill wood. Our fleet of trucks is fueled by biodiesel made from waste vegetable oil. Our project management headquarters, photo studio and fabrication shop—Battery621—is an energy-efficient space created through our revitalization of an old warehouse.

And in this eco-conscious movement, we are not alone. We are often heartened by our clients, partners and vendors who enthusiastically join us in the endeavor to use more sustainable materials, recycle and reuse existing materials, build sustainable and reusable high-quality pieces, and generally re-think the product lifecycle.
