Helly Hansen SIA Signage
project overview
In 2010, Helly Hansen, the designers and manufacturers of cutting-edge outdoor gear that is used by world-class sailors, skiers and adventurers worldwide, tapped The Public Works to build their signage for their SIA (SnowSports Industry America) Snow Show booth. The goal was to take the Helly Hansen logo—“HH”—and turn it into a 3-dimensional sign that was still viewable from any side. This proved to be one of the most complicated pieces that The Public Works has ever designed, engineered, and fabricated. The sign needed to be a 4-sided, 3-dimensional logo. And it also needed to be lit. Through the construction of a handmade steel frame, lights, and red acrylic, the sign was born. Clearly impressed with the end result, Helly Hansen has continued to use the sign at SIA’s Snow Show every year since we constructed it.
