Products Photography

project overview

We at The Public Works approach product photography as an opportunity to help our clients tell a story about their product. Each product is different and so too is each story.  We know that the story telling medium is often integral in making an impact on the reader, and so is ensuring complementary detail and style of precise lighting. So our experienced and talented photographers work with each client to find the best way of telling the narrative—whether it be through a slick 360-degree product video, macro detail shots, on-body, on-location, in action, or just simply beautifully lit silo shots.

To catch that perfect product shot, we have happily travelled around the world for amazing on-location shoots. We’re also able to capture impeccable shots in our own, state-of-the-art photography studio, located at our Battery621 headquarters. Having the studio in-house allows our crew to routinely meet rapid turn requests. Having our own 3,000 square foot, fully equipped fabrication shop down the hall gives us the unique ability to custom build the perfect set to distinctively exhibit any product.

Our work for Spyder—a superior, high-tech, global skiwear company—is a great representation of our capabilities and broad range. Spyder is the largest ski-only apparel company, and The Public Works has the dubious and exhilarating task of photographing all 2,500+ items each season for Spyder’s catalog, website, and marketing needs.  Our photography work for Spyder spans many categories, including: action, lifestyle, in-studio product, portraiture, and on-location shoots. We even shoot and produce moving pictures for Spyder, including dynamic 360-degree, on-body, product videos for inclusion in their website.

To capture this season’s Spyder product, we travelled to New Zealand to shoot amazing action, lifestyle, on-body, and portraits of Spyder’s product prototypes. Then as the product samples trickled in, we shot the entire line on models, allowing Spyder’s sales representatives to have an iPad presentation of over 2,000 products for a sales meeting. Next, we commenced shooting and post-processing silo shots of Spyder’s product line for web presentation, and shooting macro and lay down “product personality glamour” shots for their key and iconic products. For all of your imagery needs, we’ve got you covered.
