Red Bull Sound Clash

Of the only twelve Red Bull Photofiles in the United States, The Public Works is proud to have two as part of our crew. With this distinction comes the opportunity to shoot a vast array of Red Bull events—ranging from skiing events, to events featuring homemade planes jumping into a river, to any one of Red Bull’s many music events.

Of everything we’ve shot, The Red Bull Soundclash continues to be one of our favorite events to shoot. The Red Bull Soundclash is “a unique live musical experience that brings two bands with different sounds, styles and influences together under one roof to compete for the devotion of a room full of fans.”  The musical talent is always top-notch, showcasing artists such as Talib Kweli, Erikah Badu, and Shiny Toy Guns, among many others. The interaction between seemingly disparate musicians is not only energetic and creative, but it’s one of the most unique concert experiences one can undergo. Shooting these moving performances are always fun, and the energy and lighting always makes for compelling photography and consistently brings us back for more.
