Subaru Articulation Stands
project overview
The Public Works has been a huge fan of Subaru for a long time, and we jumped at the opportunity to come up with a new way of displaying their cars at their partner mountain resorts. The stands needed to be completely portable, while still being strong enough to bear the weight of a vehicle for an entire snow season. Most importantly, they needed to express the Subaru brand in a way that was welcoming and interesting to consumers.
The Public Works created a final wheel stand design that is a sandwich construction, comprised of CNC-cut marine-grade plywood and water jet-cut aluminum. Each end piece of the stand received a laser-etched Subaru logo, which was then stained to create a natural contrast between the wood and the logo. Additionally, a custom sign was created to fit into the front wheel stand and arch over the hood of the car. This sign allows consumers to recognize the display from any distance, and instantly evokes attention and the need to further inspect what Subaru has to offer. An optional collateral holder can easily be attached to the sign when desired as well.
