The Track Arch

project overview

Every race track needs a starting gate, but Red Bull (the iconic international energy drink and lifestyle company) and The Track (the Denver-area’s best outdoor kart racing track) wanted something to really call their own. Instead of using a standard overhead light system to start and stop races, they wanted a flagship piece that was not only completely unique and memorable but functional as well.

In less than two weeks, The Public Works custom-fabricated and installed this race track starting arch. In that time, we did everything from cutting and welding the metal frame, to sending it into one of Colorado’s largest powder coating ovens, to transporting and installing the piece in the middle of the night.  While that’s not a timeframe we’d like to have to work within any time soon, we’re proud we got this one done in time for The Track’s biggest race of the year.

Perhaps the best part about designing and fabricating this arch at The Track in Centennial, Colorado is the fact that we “must” go back and inspect it frequently. Obviously the only way to check it out is while passing underneath at highway speeds.

Time to go inspect again . . . . .
