Introducing the Airstream Basecamp
The Public Works couldn’t be more proud to be the lead agency and production company launching the Airstream Basecamp. We take pride in immersing ourselves in the world of every brand we partner with and there aren’t many products that we enjoy using as much as the Basecamp.
We’ve been involved with the development and launch of this product since its inception. From initial design discussions to brand development, to final launch plans and asset creation, we’ve been able to work with the remarkable team at Airstream to help create a product and campaign that we’re extremely proud of.
Since the official launch Airstream has amassed impressions in the millions, engagement in the hundreds of thousands, and dealers are so overwhelmed with interest that they’re scheduling appointments to see the Basecamp.
In addition to consulting on product, developing the product’s branding language and imagery guidelines, producing photo and video shoots, testing and managing a prototype trailer, and managing the other talented and hard working agencies involved, we’ve been able to create some ambitious adventures with the Basecacmp. Check out our trip report of a Bikethe14ers adventure up Mt. Evans here:
Built for adventure, the design characteristics and streamlined construction of Basecamp allow it to become an enabler for treks both big and small. The Basecamp is the lightest trailer in the Airstream fleet, which, combined with an aggressive departure angle, makes uneven terrain accessible and towing easier.
Other notable features of the Basecamp include:
-Convertible rear space that was thoughtfully designed to easily adapt for eating, sleeping, lounging or storing a lot of your gear
-Large rear cargo hatch and flexible storage space with tie downs allows for easy loading and unloading
-Bathroom with toilet and shower, including shower head pass through for convenient use in the most remote locations
-Eating healthy on the road is easy in the kitchen which offers a cooktop, stainless steel sink and refrigerator
-Wireless Bose Bluetooth Soundlink Color speaker is perfect for adding a little music to your adventure
-Optional additions include an enclosed patio and rear tent that seamlessly attach to the Basecamp roof track allowing you to have extra outside storage
“We designed Basecamp to rekindle the desire to explore nature and get outdoors,” said Bob Wheeler, President of Airstream, “Whether it’s for the long-time camper who has a garage full of high-end gear that’s no longer used, or for the person who has always wanted to get out more but was hesitant, Basecamp is the passport to unimaginable new experiences.”
We also created all marketing materials, managed the media buy, and partner relationships.
Thank you to all the brands that collaborated with us:
